Setting up the Coleman Cobra Tent
Getting this tent set up and ready is a very straightforward process for even the most rookie camper. The Coleman Cobra comes with a standard pole bag, peg bag and rolled up a tent inside the tent bag, so take these out and lay them all flat on a flat even surface.
Also within the bag you will find the tent’s instructions on how to set it up, this is actually sewn into the bag which I find is great as you’ll never lose it.
As we said before, the Coleman Cobra tent has just 2 poles – one long and one short.
The good thing about the difference in size, is that it will be very hard to get them mixed up but just to be sure Coleman has actually colour-coded them for quicker setup. Usually, you’ll find the smaller pole is coloured red and matches the red section where it is fitted at the back of the tent.
The Coleman Cobra is a flysheet-first pitch tent so you actually set up the flysheet on the outside and then attach the ‘pod-style’ bedroom area.
When you have set up the poles in their respective slots, you will see clips that can be attached to the poles to pull the flysheet tight.
Most people like the guy lines as they have a great little feature where the plastic fasteners have toothed grooves instead of the standard figure-eight loop that you get with other tents – this creates a greater hold of the guy lines to maintain their tightness.
Also, the tent’s pegs are made from lightweight aluminium but are very strong so they shouldn’t bend when placing into the ground.

Inside the Coleman Cobra tent
The interior of the Coleman Cobra tent is spacious enough that it can comfortably sleep 2 people (or 3 people if you choose the 3 person variation). The dimensions are 257cm in length x 125cm in width x 87cm in height towards the top of the tent.
This tent model features a ‘pod-style’ bedroom area which is completely independent of the flysheet so it allows maximum ventilation and minimises any condensation buildup.
The groundsheet has a bathtub style which curves up around the corners keeping water and bugs out.
